Established in 2007 as an independent civic initiative, the Foundation supports local development through culture, art and education.
Our mission
Local roots, international cooperation
Gdańsk Community Foundation was established by Gdańsk entrepreneur Andrzej Stelmasiewicz. Its mission is to support the development of local communities and to cooperate with art galleries, art schools and NGOs pursuing similar goals in other European cities.
The Foundation has run the Warzywniak Art Gallery, the One Piece of Art Gallery and the e66 Centre, which offered studios to young artists.
Education and projects
Major projects include Crossroads of Freedom, the International Ex Libris and Small Graphic Forms Competition, Oliwa Academy of Art and the Academy of Gdańsk Lion Cubs.
Publications
The Foundation has published books devoted to spatial forms, Kashubian stone sculpture, ex libris, Gdańsk architecture and educational stories for children.
